Gifford Arboretum Membership The Gifford Arboretum is run by a mostly volunteer committee of graduate students, faculty, other members of the University Community and other members of the greater community of Miami. We organize and sponsor various activities throughout the year including:
- Annual Picnic and Plant Sale
- Annual Lecture hosting a distinguished plant biologist
- Horticultural Workshops with Miami-Dade Cooperative Extension
- David Fairchild Medal for Plant Exploration Award at the Kampong
- Interdisciplinary activities with UM Departments and Miami area botanical organizations.
